“Keep creating in me a clean heart. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you.” Psalms 51:10 TPT
How often do we set aside time to keep our house clean?
Some of us schedule it into our weekly routines, and have set days where we clean a specific thing. Others of us clean as we go. However, most of us understand that we cannot operate in a space that is cluttered, or filled with dirt and grime.
So, what do we do…we clean our house.
Yet, when it comes to the condition of our hearts and souls how many of us are applying similar methods?
When the noises of life cloud our minds, and pain clutter our hearts…. what actions do we take to clean the messes within?
The same importance we put on the external spaces we occupy, we have to place on the internal ones too.
When was the last time, you took the time to cater to the unattended areas of your heart, mind, and soul?
If you were to have company over, and they were invited in…what would be the current state of your house?
Would there be things lying around, broken furniture in need of repair, spills still on the floor getting stickier by the day?
If so, then it’s time to finally clean your house.
No one wants to live in a space that’s cluttered or dirty. Studies show there is a direct correlation between organization, clean spaces, and peace.
The same applies for your heart, mind and spirit. When you take the steps to tend to the things that need addressing, you free yourself.
So, when was the last time you swept and mopped the floor of your heart and mind? What areas of your life still need freshening up?
Maybe you already know, and maybe you don’t. Either way, it’s time to sit with the Lord and see where He needs you to clean house.
